Do you make a mean BBQ?  Have specific ideas about what does or does not constitute proper barbecue?  Next Saturday there will be a forum for putting it to the test.  There will be a BBQ cook-off as part of the BrewBQues Music Festival in Downtown Lewisburg.

The contest registration form can be found here.  The Lewisburg Sunset Rotary which is organizing it has extended the deadline to sign up to this Friday.  That's plenty of time to get ready.  Procure your cut of meat.  Fire up your device of choice.  And get cooking.

Celebrity judges are waiting to sample the entries and render their opinions.  The contest begins at 2 p.m. For this contest, ‘’barbecue” is defined as food prepared with a dry spice rub, sauce, or combination of both.   A team of seven celebrity judges will determine the best BBQ by 2:30.  Criteria include Overall Taste, Tenderness, and Presentation.  Amateur and professional entries are welcome. The winner will receive $100 in downtown Lewisburg gift certificates.  Entries will need to provide 1 pint per judge.
