Ready, Set, Dig
Summer is a time when things tend to slow down dramatically around here.  That’s just what happens in a college town, especially when the departure of the school population suddenly leaves the Borough barely two thirds as big as it is during the school year. So when that slow down occurs, other things start picking up.  Out pop construction vehicles of all stripes.  Projects lying in wait all winter finally see the light of day.  We have projects large and small afoot.  Right now, within a few square blocks, you can see the screen around the portable restrooms in Hufnagle Park taking…

IMG_3965And there’s more to come.  By the first week in July, the next round of demolitions along the east side of S 6th St will be underway.  And towards the end of the summer, the section of St Louis St from S 6th to Hawn Alley will get a complete streetscape overhaul to match the work done on S 7th and S 5th previously.

We're in good company, of course -- work on roads throughout the region is ongoing and Pennsylvania House site construction will also be starting shortly.

‘Tis the season… for construction projects.
