What Is a Charrette Anyway?
A ‘Charrette’ is defined as a collaborative session in which a group of community stakeholders ‘design’ a solution.   In this instance the participants will be tasked with creating design concepts for the study area’s streets, parks, and greenway.  Break-out groups will work on various elements of the design problem – such as Recreation Needs; Event Space; Stream Restoration; Neighborhood Connections / Trail Concepts and Creating a Park where People Want to Be.  At the end of the evening the various break-out groups will present their ideas.  Professional Planners and Designers will help facilitate the breakout groups, with each group producing a…

We’d love to have your input and hope you can attend.  Feel free to make the schedule work for you and treat it as an Open House if that’s more feasible for you.  Or come for the whole thing – and the pizza!  In the true spirit of the Ecole des Beaux Arts charrette tradition, the design team will follow this up with a work session into the wee hours.  You are just being asked to offer your dinner timeslot.
