Lewisburg's own -- actually the Bull Run Neighborhood's own -- Marjorie Priceman, children's book author and illustrator extraordinaire, is generously donating proceeds from the sale of packs of the Christmas cards she created last year to the Bull Run Neighborhood Committee. The cards depict a winter scene in Hufnagle Park with the Christmas tree front and center. The Borough Building, the gazebo and neighborhood houses are visible in the background. Wreathed streetlights stand in the foreground.
The cards made their debut in packs this fall at the Bull Run Neighborhood Booth at the Woolly Worm Festival. Attendees wound up making or buying 290 pipe cleaner woollies and many were happy to discover the cards as well. (Q: How many pipe cleaners does it take to make 290 Woolly Worms? A: 1160!) Having the cards on hand helped us cover the range of age-groups and interests represented by the fair-goers. We were really serving a customer base from age 3 to 103.
The cards are now available at the CommUnity Zone at 419 Market, just to the right/east of the Campus Theatre Box Office. The Zone is open T-F 1:30 to 5:30pm and for special events like Late Shoppers' Night. You can pick up a pack of 8 for $12. Contact us at elmstreet@dejazzd.com or 570.523.0114 for more information.
Meanwhile, enjoy the view of our holiday day-to-day as reenvisioned by this award-winning illustrator.
