In light of the impacts of ongoing shifts in federal legislation on flood insurance, the Borough of Lewisburg has moved to convene a Flood Impact Task Force.  The ad hoc group will be chaired by Borough Council member Rob Cook and is to consist of community members and regional resource contacts including representatives from the banking, insurance, real estate, planning, construction, and design fields as well as a range of property owners and residents.

The Borough will hold a Flood Impact Task Force recruiting meeting on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30 pm in the training room at the William Cameron Engine Company at the intersection of N 5th St and Buffalo Rd.  (The facility is on the west side of N 5th St.)

The public is invited to attend  and consider whether they would be able to participate in the task force now being formed.  A list of issues to be addressed in broad categories, including Coordination, Information, Public Outreach, Borough Support, and Legislation, will be reviewed.  There will also be discussion of logistics for the group to meet in the future.
