It's that time again! The second Saturday in October when Lewisburg turns out in force to celebrate fall and contemplate what winter may hold. And yet again, we'll see you in Hufnagle Park on Saturday, October 11, starting at 9:30am, with the high school marching band to open the day and throughout the day until the Winter Weather Prognostication is held at 3:30pm.
The LNC and Bull Run Neighborhood will have a booth again this year, offering opportunities to craft and take home your very own woolly worm effigy. Pipecleaners do a fine job of emulating the little critters. It's a fun craft for the dextrous among us. For those unprepared to handle wires, premade woollies will be available for purchase as well. As you can see, we have stocked up on the appropriate colors for this year -- though psychedelic woollies proved unexpectedly popular last year.
Should pipecleaners not be your thing, we will also have Lewisburg Holiday Cards for sale. We'll have both the brand new design created for this year by artist in permanent residence Marjorie Priceman, featuring a Market Street scene, and last year's Hufnagle Park tableau. Cards are available in packs of 8 for $12, payable by cash or check. If we don't see you at the festival, you will still be able to get cards for the coming season, just email or call us (elmstreet@dejazzd.com or 570-523-0114) and let us know how many boxes you would like. We will arrange to get them to you. We are also looking into having them available at select storefronts downtown.
