The Lewisburg River Town Team in cooperation with the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership is running a Selfie Scavenger Hunt during the Lewisburg Arts Festival this year.  We want to see you go the distance during the Festival.  Visit the street fair and take it all in, from 7th Street to the River.

How does it work?  You'll need to have some kind of social media access so you can like or follow us on either facebook, twitter or instagram, those being On the River -- Lewisburg, @OnTheRiverLburg, and @OnTheRiverLburg respectively, that last one is still a work in progress, but it's on the way.  You can help us kick it into gear!).  Then you take selfies during the festival showing yourself by Bull Run Creek and by the Susquehanna River and also in 5 of the other 10 selfie categories listed below.  Post and tag them as directed below and be entered into a drawing to win prizes like Susquehanna Greenway Partnership water bottles and t-shirts and Lewisburg Downtown Dollars gift certificates.

The requirements are that you be able to create digital photos and be able to post them to social media, but that should be accessible to a fairly wide range of people.  You don't have to do it in real time, if you're no so equipped.  Feel free to take pictures with a camera, say, and post them later in the day.  The deadline is 10pm that evening.

If you forget about the contest, there will be River Ambassadors posted in several places along Market St reminding you to give it a try (and also giving you a chance to do the River Town Survey if you haven't already.)

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Follow us: look for On the River – Lewisburg on Facebook and @OnTheRiverLburg on Instagram or Twitter.
• Upload your selfies to your preferred platform and tag @OnTheRiverLburg (Instagram or Twitter) or On the River -- Lewisburg (Facebook).
• Add a comment about which category it’s in (bug, bird, fish, person, boat, organization, flowing, still, 2D, 3D…)
• Include both these hashtags: #lewisburgartsfest2016 and #scavengerselfies2016

 

Selfie Scavenger Hunt locations/subjects are as follows:

Required, take selfies in these two locations:

1. By Bull Run Creek in Hufnagle Park by South 6th Street
2. By the Susquehanna River at Soldiers Memorial Park on North Water Street

In addition, take selfies in 5 of the following 10 categories:

1. Two dimensional artwork on the theme of flowing water
2. Three dimensional artwork on the theme of flowing water
3. Two dimensional artwork on the theme of still water
4. Three dimensional artwork on the theme of still water
5. A fish, real or representational
6. A bird, real or representational
7. A bug, real or representational
8. Watercraft, real or representational
9. A person who has been in or on the Susquehanna in the past 12 months
10. A booth for an organization that promotes environmental issues

 

 

Conditions of entry:

• By entering this competition you agree that your selfies may be shared across Lewisburg River Town Team, Lewisburg Neighborhoods Corporation, Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, and Lewisburg Arts Council social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
• Entrants must attend the Lewisburg Arts Festival.
• Only selfies uploaded to Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter and including the designated hashtags and tag will be deemed eligible for the prize draw.
• You may submit multiple entries on each social media platforms, but each photo can only be entered once per platform.
• Selfies must be uploaded by 10pm, Saturday, April 23rd.

 

Note: your Instagram/Twitter account privacy settings will need to be ‘public’ for the photos to be visible.  We need to be able to see and share your entry!
