To all Lewisburg Area School Board and Municipal Race Candidates,
Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg wants to hear from you! How would you respond to these questions?
- How can local students and/or residents benefit from a walkable and bikeable community?
- What steps would you take to help develop safe walking and biking routes to the new Lewisburg Area High School?
- What other ideas do you have for improving student and/or resident well-being through active transportation?
Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg would like to invite you to attend a meet and greet on Thursday, October 19, at 7:30pm at Earl’s Bicycle Store at 427 Fairground Rd, to meet local residents concerned about walking and biking safety and interested in how that relates to the operations and aspirations of local municipalities and the Lewisburg Area School District. At the session, you would have an opportunity to introduce yourself and speak briefly about your commitment to and understanding of the need for safe walking and biking opportunities for the physical and psychological well-being of students and the community at large. (Snacks will be provided by Earl’s.)
The mission of Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg is to encourage and improve walking and biking in the Lewisburg area. The committee would like to hear from the candidates on the November ballot in the Lewisburg area whether for school board or for local municipal positions about their perspective on walking and biking. Please review the questions above and send your response to Walk It! Bike It! c/o the Lewisburg Neighborhoods Corporation at elmstreet [at] windstream.net or PO Box 298, Lewisburg, PA 17837. The text of the questions is available for cut and paste online at LewisburgNeighborhoods.org/LASD-candidate-questions or can be obtained by emailing us.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
