One of the perks of a walkable community and an event like the upcoming BrewBQue Music Festival -- Saturday, July 26, from 2 to 6pm -- is that you can get a ticket and enjoy the Beer Garden and not have to worry about having a designated driver. Walking home from the festivities is a Lewisburg resident benefit.
What exactly will the festivities conjured up by the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership entail? Well, first of all, it's not just from 2 to 6 and it's not just behind a ticketing pay wall and it's not just for beer lovers. There's something for everyone. There will be sidewalk sales and deals all along Market St throughout the day. The ticketed portion is for the Beer Garden which will be set up on S 6th St adjacent to Bull Run Taphouse; tickets are $25 in advance or $30 day-of. In addition to that, though, there will be live music, barbecue, children's activities, and a free movie at the Campus Theatre. There's even a barbecue cook-off (follow the link to the registration form; due July 20!). The full rundown is on the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership's website.
So, beer lovers, hop to and pick up your tickets for the Beer Garden. Teetotalers, try the Root Beer Garden in Hugnagle Park, music and fun throughout town. And Riverbugs, check out how the BrewBQueMenu (aka the event map) stretches "from 6th Street to the River" -- that's a new river-aware way of describing the downtown business district, making its debut for this event. Soldiers Memorial Park will have live music and musical activities from Echoing Heart Productions, as well as food and kids' games courtesy of the Donald Heiter Community Center.
Come on out and check it all out. Make sure you get down to the River and up to Bull Run.
