Walk It! Bike It!

Making Lewisburg more walkable and bike-able.

Walk It! Bike It! arose out of public input during the River Town Team planning process when participants identified a need to address how people get to the river and, more generally, around in the community.

In its first year of operation, Walk It! Bike It! conducted a SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Challenges) analysis, developed priority lists, and participated in community events. Current work includes developing bike/pedestrian maps for the area, organizing safety trainings, promoting national events like Bike to Work or Walk to School Days, organizing local events like River Road Holiday, and coordinating with regional bike/ped planning initiatives.

What You Can Do .. as a pedestrian, driver, and resident

We all want a safer community. A walkable town depends on pedestrians being present and visible when exercising their rights AND recognizing drivers as a critical part of the same community.

Join Us

Come join us at the Slow Roll at 6:30pm every Wednesday from April to November. We meet at the intersection of Market St. and the Rail Trail for a leisurely bike ride throughout town

We invite anyone who would like to be involved with improving conditions for walking and biking in the area to contact us and see how you can get involved.
