About Lewisburg Neighborhoods Corporation

Who we are:  The Lewisburg Neighborhoods Corporation is a small non-profit organization founded in 2006 by the Borough of Lewisburg and Bucknell University to work on neighborhood revitalization in the Borough.  The initial area of focus was the Bull Run Neighborhood, a historical, walkable neighborhood between campus and Market St, including South 5th, 6th and 7th Streets.  The LNC has one part-time employee, the Elm Street Manager, and a volunteer board composed of representatives of Borough Council and Bucknell as well as other community members.  The Bull Run Neighborhood faces many challenges including a changing housing market, with recent reductions in off-campus student housing quotas, changes to the National Flood Insurance Rates which affect a majority of properties directly and all indirectly, and the spectre of deferred maintenance on many of the historic homes.

Our mission:

  • To maintain an administrative framework for planning neighborhood improvements;
  • To be an advocacy group for Lewisburg neighborhoods;
  • To plan for long-term reinvestment while preserving historic aspects of the community:
  • To facilitate public/private communication and cooperation to strengthen community ties and improve neighborhood appearance, property values, safety, and quality of life; and
  • To work in partnership with the Borough of Lewisburg to secure funds and to identify, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of neighborhood projects and
